About Stephen

alt

Stephen is a conscious sexuality activist, entrepreneur and website geek based in Cape Town, South Africa.

As a facilitator and speaker in self-awareness and personal development, and in the acknowledgement, integration and natural expression of sexuality, Stephen uses spiritual teachings and practices of conscious sexuality to catalyse tangible and fulfilling experiences in life, love and relationship.

His own experiences and processes are shared on this website.

Background in Conscious Sexuality

Stephen's background in conscious sexuality is partly personal experience with, and exploration of, his own sexuality. He has explored, theoretically and experientially, different expressions of sexuality and relationship in search of his own truth and authentic expression. From 2002, his personal work in this area was initiated in part by a series of courses called the Harlequin Experience facilitated by Christopher Neville. This provided a foundation for developing self-awareness and personal-power.

Being interested in working positively with sexuality and looking for a basis from which to do this, Stephen trained for two years in a counselling modality with Yehuda Tagar of Persephone Institute. This form of process work, based on Rudolph Steiner's Anthroposophical approach to personal development, integrates spiritual awareness, body consciousness, innate inner-wisdom and self-healing.

Stephen continues to delve into spiritual/shamanistic/esoteric/mystery traditions such as the Lojong Tibetan Buddhist, Mexican Toltec and Eastern Tantric teachings, developing inner-awareness and compassion.

In his association with the Advait Tantra School, under the experienced guidance of his colleague Dr Shakti Malan, Stephen has been facilitating awareness and conscious/sacred sexuality practices through talks, workshops, retreats, personal sessions and group work since the beginning of 2009.

Background in Entrepreneurship and Website Development

Stephen completed a Business Science degree in Finance and Information Systems at UCT. While consulting to Investec and Discovery Health he developed an expertise in content management for Intranet and Internet websites.

A business he founded in 2000, Comduit Websites, specialised in delivering and supporting content managed websites for entrepreneurs and small to medium businesses, based on the award-winning, open-source content management system, Joomla! Comduit Websites produced a portfolio of international websites up until the end of 2009.

Stephen continues his work with the Joomla! content management framework on the Amibe Joomla! Multisite project as well as working on other projects related to conscious sexuality.

It's a pleasure Lindy. It's moving from aloneness and separation to togetherness and integration... and a little compassionate, loving holding is wonderful support as we step into the beauty of our vulnerability and our awesome strength.

Thank you for those insightful words on Maya's fb page. It is nice to know that others have an understanding of what you are experiencing. Then you can better get to grips with the frightening part, knowing that others have travelled this same path, and come out better people on the other side. Thanks, Regards, Lindy

Hi Alan, thank you for getting in contact.

Ideas around sexuality and intimacy are a huge aspect of what is thought about men and masculinity. I completely support this being introduced into men's groups/programs. I am pursuing some of this myself to see where knowledge and experience of Tantra can bring men into greater awareness of themselves and their relations. The Masculine Identity workshop I'm running is a starting point.

I've sent you an email and look forward to hearing more.
