Becoming Your Unique Value

Designer LifeBruce Muzik, who motivates and helps people to realise their potential, writes in How NOT To Attract Money that the actual way to attract money is "by providing or creating some kind of VALUE that people are willing to pay money for". Bruce gives the formula "GIVE VALUE = GET OPPORTUNITIES (TO EXCHANGE VALUE FOR MONEY)" and suggests "the secret to wealth creation is discovering your unique VALUE that you can add to the world, and then spreading that value in a way that is enjoyable for you".

I agree in part but look further into what underlies your value.

Finding your unique value is a huge barrier many can't penetrate. Part of being stuck like this is due larely to an underlying, unconscious belief of not actually being of value (not being good enough or not being worthy). How can you find any value to offer if you intrinsically don't believe your own possible worth?

Want to find your unique value? Work with transforming these unconscious beliefs into something that supports a becoming of your unique magnificence. Magnificence is a big word and anyone struggling with this has already a good indication there is something to work with.

It's a spiritual journey all on its own and could take a life time (or more?).

But there is also the other side of Bruce's equation: to convert opportunities into value (whatever this means for you - I think 'money' per se is a limited perspective on this).

There are few aspects to this: you should recognize the opportunities, be willing to transform them into value and then actually take some form of action to do so...

STOP!

At this point I begin to question what I'm saying (I do that) - it's the word 'action' which for me holds a possible conflict between 'doing' and 'being'. So I make a few quick points and attempt to clarify for myself where I'm going with this:

  1. Our underlying beliefs and attitudes - the meaning we give and the way we respond to phenomena - will drastically affect our inner experiential existence.

  2. To realise our full potential requires beliefs and attitudes that support our becoming.

  3. In this we should allow for surprise; any idea we have about our value and opportunities excludes the possibilities that exist outside of what we think we know.

  4. The word 'allow' and 'become' are important because the 'action' is part willingness and part presence to be with what is. It's the effortless action and choice-less choice where we flow from one synchronous moment to the next.

I re-view Bruce's suggestion that "the secret to wealth creation is discovering your unique VALUE that you can add to the world, and then spreading that value in a way that is enjoyable for you"...

My feeling is that to express your uniqueness fully, uncompromisingly and with deep compassion for yourself and all existence is value. You don't have to 'find' your unique value, you just have to participate in existence from a place of unconditional self-acceptance. The world asks nothing more than you be yourself fully and present in the current moment. In being so you are already wealthy and your life will already be enjoyable. Nothing to create and no 'way' to find.

I'm reminded of a story of a person who embarked on a spiritual journey so they could see into the future and use this as a means to become financially very wealthy. On reaching this level of spiritual awareness the desire for financial wealth was gone.

So, to support your being with value and the opportunities that arise transform your underlying beliefs and attitudes - come step into the fire and dance with chaos.
