Masculine Identity - Sexuality

Masculine Identity - SexualityThere are different aspects to masculinity. This work is focused on the narrow slice about how we relate to and express our masculine in sexuality. It's an important slice, if not the crucial basis from which all other relating is infused. Osho is quoted as saying, "Sex is the seed, love is the flower, compassion is the fragrance.". If we are to rise to an authentic, honouring and empowered expression of the masculine it would be good to nurture and feed the roots of this possibility.

Being fully in authentic expression is not an idea or a theory. It must be something we stand in, embody and be in with full consciousness - it is experiential and emergent. Gandhi said, “Be the change you wish to see in the world.”. We're not going to find answers about the expression of the masculine from what we see in the world. Authenticity is something felt within upon reflection from experience, through presence and awareness.

Going directly to any idea of what the masculine should be will always be limited by that idea. Our idea and beliefs are what hold us back from experiencing the fullness of our unknown potential. A cursory observation of our world shows us that whatever we currently 'know' about men has tremendous space for something healthy to emerge we can all aspire to.

This work starts with the seed of sexual energy. We look at our relationship to our sexuality and the ideas that hold us back from it's full expression. From the strength of our will to find the truth of our being, we connect back to our sexuality with a new awareness. We nurture it with care and love, welcoming and honouring the feeling of desire and arousal as a powerful, multi-orgasmic and sustained energising force. We learn how to enjoy it in a way that does not diminish it, ourselves or anyone else, and learn to allow this energy's flow throughout our body.

When this flow begins to happen we encounter whatever has held us back from our aliveness and our truth. Closing off from these creates a distancing or isolation effect that shut down our sexuality, returning us to old ideas and beliefs structures. However, being present with and vulnerable in our old beliefs, fears and uncomfortable emotions provides an openness to allow this energy to touch the heart, to grow the rose and experience unrestricted intimacy and love.

13th century Rumi writes: "Out beyond ideas of wrongdoing and rightdoing, there is a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass, the world is too full to talk about. Ideas, language, even the phrase 'each other' doesn't make any sense."

The inherent nature of the masculine is so much more that what we currently can ever imagine it to be.

To facilitate this experience of discovering the real of our masculine expression in sexuality I offer The Masculine Identity and On Being Man workshops.

Hi Derek, there's been a lot of interest from other's who couldn't make the date so it will happen again.

Very happy to visit Greyton if there is a group of men curious to learn more...

There's also a two day version being conceptualised to coincide with the conference happening later this year.
