I am a Leader of the Planet!
aMan Bloom, a beautiful man I once met in Kalk Bay and now living in Grahamstown, wrote A Housewife in Akron as Leader of the Planet. This has inspired the Facebook group Leaders of the Planet which states:
"...until we all, even an overworked housewife in an industrial town in the midwest USA, ACTIVELY PARTICIPATE as 'Leaders of the Planet,' then the changes will never come."
By now it should be an familiar concept: start with yourself, change begins from within. In his lifetime (1869-1948) Mahatma Gandhi often stated: "You must be the change you wish to see in the world.". Yet still, for many that clutch desperately to their little view of themselves, this remains a concept. To be anything other than the story of our limited self perception feels unimaginable and beyond our capabilities.
To make it really personal... the way you behave, the way you treat others and the environment around you, is probably a reflection of how you regard yourself. In esoteric terms we are in an age of transition from 'tribe' to 'individuation', from second to third chakra. Responsibility no longer lies outside of ourselves, we must each find the authority within to be a leader of the planet.
This is my prayer as we move towards 2010:
Take me to your leader!
Allow me to hold space with your leader.
Allow me to celebrate the magnificence of your leader.
Allow me to express gratitude and wonder in intimate ecstasy with your leader.
Show me to your leader and we will dance the mysterious creation of our world.
Are you willing to enter deeply into vulnerability and meet yourself? I look forward to reading your comments.
