Comduit was a website implementation and management business founded by Stephen in 2000. It was build on open, empowering and collaborative principles, building ongoing relationships that aimed to create value for all involved. The niche area of expertise was in working with the open-source Joomla! content management framework backed by a strong and enthusiastic support team.
One of Comduit's initial goals, rather than have employees, was to empower and motivate individuals to provided services in their own capacity, responsibility and initiative. As of April 2010, all website support and maintenance services were handed over to a dedicated employee of Comduit who now operates independently as Ink Free Media.
In this endeavour, Ink Free Media is supported through the Accel Enterprise Development Programme for entrepreneurs and start-up businesses. The programme, sponsored by the Western Cape Provincial Government and the City of Cape Town, is facilitated by Cape Venture Partners and PeerPower.
Another of Comduit's goals was to make professional, technologically advanced, content-managed websites more accessible to small business and entrepreneurs at a realistic cost of ownership. Stephen continues with this goal, working with the Joomla! technology on the Amibe Joomla! Multisite project and using this, his personal website, as a constantly evolving proof-of-concept.
Comduit stopped trading under this name end of March 2010.
